H.E Mrs. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow
Her Excellency assumed the role of First Lady in 2017 as the wife of Gambian President His Excellency Adama Barrow, Madam Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow is a distinguished member of the Fula people. Her professional journey, spanning from 2000 to 2008, included impactful roles in the sales and marketing department of Elton Oil Company and later at Africell, a prominent mobile phone provider.
A strong supporter during her husband’s 2016 presidential campaign, Madam Bah-Barrow has continued to exemplify her dedication to the people of The Gambia in her capacity as First Lady. Her Excellency remains deeply involved in charitable endeavours and supports various aid organizations. On May 1, 2017 she established the Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation (FaBB) with a mission to combat poverty and provide assistance to the sick, women, and children.
The FaBB Foundation, under her visionary leadership, entered into a significant partnership with the renowned medical group Merck KGaA in February 2018. This collaboration aims to address infertility in women, showcasing her commitment to advancing healthcare solutions and empowering women across the nation. Her Excellency Madam Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow continues to be an inspiring figure, fostering positive change and making meaningful contributions to the well-being of her fellow citizens.
Her Excellency was honoured with the Vigor Unsung Heroes Award International Humanitarian 2023 for her service to Humanity on July 30, 2023 in Canada during the Windsor International Diaspora African Festival.
